Hi everyone! Today I have some fun nail art to share with you. If you've been following me a while you might remember that I love one-stroke nail art and florals. It's been ages since I've had much time to do this kind of nail art. I recently found myself with an evening alone and a craving to do some fun nail art.
I had put on Deborah Lippmann Flashdance earlier in the day and I love the colour so I thought it deserved some nice decoration. I set out to do a couple of accent nails on each hand but it turned into a full mani! No regrets. I loved wearing this. The only thing I didn't think through well was using peel off base coat because Flashdance is a glitter polish and it meant my mani didn't last as long as I would like. But at least removal was easy and I didn't loose any polish by accident!
So, from the beginning, I used a coat of Dance Legend Peel-Off base coat then 3 thin coats of Flashdance. Flashdance is a mix of purple and fuchsia glitter in a clear base but it is just about opaque on me in 2 coats. I added a third to be sure.
I then used some topcoat and matte topcoat to smooth and mattify my base for the one-stroke painting. I chose purple and white acrylic paint to pop against the base colour. I used a slanted brush, a fine detail brush and a dotting tool. I finished with topcoat as always. I ended up using a couple of coats of topcoat because the glitter polish eats it. You might want to try something thicker for this polish if you have it or get it. Next time, I think I'll wear this one matte, I loved how it looked when I was doing my painting but I prefer a shiny finish for nail art.
Anyway, I was quite happy with how this turned out. I'm a bit out of practice so it's far from my best but it was nice to wear a whole one-stroke mani for a change!
