Girly Bits Felt With The Heart + I Licked It, So It's Mine

Hi everyone! Today I have some nail art for you that I absolutely LOVED wearing. I was actually kind of obsessed with my nails. It's been a while since I've loved a mani this much.

If you read my post on Girly Bits I Licked It, So It's Mine, You might remember how much I fell in love with this polish. Since then, I purchased Felt With The Heart, another Polish Pickup exclusive and I had the idea of combining the two...
I'll have my post on Felt With The Heart coming up for you soon!

I started out with one coat of Felt With The Heart, a sparkly turquoise foil with holographic pigment and gold, blue and multichrome flakes. I then layered 2 thin coats of I Licked It, So It's Mine, a pink shimmer packed with glitter and flakes, over the top. The result is a super shifty, glowy, shimmery mani somewhere between pink and blue - lilac/silvery depending on the light. I thought this mix deserved some 'magical' stamping so I added a mermaid scale image from the Moyou Sailor 05 plate using Girly Bits Sea You Next Fall.

Sea You Next Fall is one of my new favourite colours for stamping. Like the other Fall cremes, the colour is so vibrant and opaque. It was perfect for this. I finished with a coat of topcoat as always. What do you think?

STELLA CHROMA Karavaki (Polish Pickup December 2017)

Hi everyone! Today I have a super pretty sparkly shade from STELLA CHROMA for you! This is Karavaki from the December 2017 Polish Pickup. The theme for December was Holidays Around the World and STELLA CHROMA picked our a Greek tradition for her inspiration. They decorate small boats (karavaki) with Christmas lights to welcome returning sailors. I wasn't familiar with this tradition but it sounds so lovely!

Karavaki is a sheer black polish absolutely jam-packed with silver and blue holographic glitter. The polish appears black/grey depending on the light and has a super strong blue flash from the glitter. Seriously, I don't think you can get more sparkly than this!!

I used 2 coats and the formula was really nice, especially for such a glittery polish. I used a couple of coats of topcoat to make sure I had a super smooth finish. I wanted to decorate this one but ended up leaving it alone because it just doesn't need anything else!

I'm sorry to blog a polish which is no longer available, I voted for this one to make a comeback for this month's PPU but unfortunately it didn't win (the winning polish was lovely too though so be sure to check that out over at the STELLA CHROMA site). I'm sure that if you want it though, you could probably find it though in a sales group!

You can use the code THEMANICAFE at STELLA CHROMA to get 15% off your order if you find something you love!

I also wanted to remind you again about the STELLA CHROMA fan group on Facebook called stella chromatics. We’d love to have you join if you haven’t already!

Alter Ego - Dance Like No One Is Watching (Polish Pickup August 2018 - Musicals)

Press Sample/Review

Hi everyone! I have the August Polish Pick Up Exclusive from Alter Ego for you today!

The Polish Pick Up theme for this month is 'Musicals'. Cynthia from Alter Ego has made a polish inspired by Fantasia, specifically thw Dance of the Hours segment with the dancing hippos and elephants. I'm not too familiar with the inspiration for this one I'll admit so I'll let you be the judge of that but I can definitely enjoy the pretty polish!

Dance Like No One Is Watching is a complex colour, hard to describe, so please bear with me. I see a coppery rose gold base which is super sparkly, especially outside. It has a variety of micro glitters in green and purple/pink. The polish has a lovely pink flash. Cynthia describes it as a 'pink leaning lighter brown with pink and green sparkles to pick up on the tutus and slippers the dancers were wearing'.

I used 2 coats and a coat of Alter Ego She Shines topcoat to finish. The formula was good and easy to work with.

Dance Like No One Is Watching will be available from August 3rd at 11am EST until August 6th at 11:59pm EST along with polishes from other brands with the 'Musicals' theme!

The non-polish products from Polish Pickup will now be separate under the name Indie Pickup. I'll be posting soon with Cynthia's product for that and all the info you need so keep your eyes peeled! Until then, here is the Polish Pickup info as usual! Enjoy!

Essie BBF Best Boyfriend & Set in Stones

Hi everyone! Sorry for the short break, stuff has been hectic recently and I've had a hard time shifting a stubborn cough and the tiredness that went with it because I couldn't sleep! I'm back today with a simple mani from the vault of forgotten photos. But first let me tell you, I absolutely loved wearing this mani and the combination was super simple but super pretty. I will definitely be wearing more like this in the future.

I started out with 2 coats of Essie BBF Best Boyfriend which is one of my favourite nude polishes. It is my go-to for a translucent nude base for art or a french manicure. It's basically like my nails but better. I then used one coat of Essie Set in Stones, a silver glitter topper in a clear base. I told you this was a simple combo but it was exactly what I was looking for!

What do you think of this mani? It makes me want to pull out my glitter polishes more often!

Coffee Nail Art - Lina Nail Art Supplies, OPI & Girly Bits Cosmetics

Hi everyone! If you've been reading my blog a while or you follow me on Instagram, you'll probably know I'm a huge coffee lover. So of course I had to have the Coffee, Tea or Gonutz 01 plate from Lina Nail Art Supplies and this was my first time trying it out!

I started out with 2 coats of OPI My Very First Knockwurst and I used Girly Bits Acornucopia for the stamping. This is definitely becoming an absolute go-to colour for stamping for me. It goes with so many colours and it's perfect. I topped with topcoat as always. I'll apologise for the slightly smudged design because I was in a hurry when doing this mani when we were away for the weekend.

I like how it turned out anyway and can't wait to play around some more with this plate. The images are adorable! I hope you like it too!
