China Glaze Elephant Walk & Silver Stripes

Hi everyone! Today I have a simple striped stamped mani to show you.

I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze Elephant Walk. I pulled this out of my Helmer because my friend Kim from The Ides of Polish recently mentioned grey polish and made me want to wear one. I realised I don't have as much choice of grey polish as I thought I did...

I do have this lovely shade from China Glaze though so I wasn't too disappointed. Elephant Walk is a light grey with silver shimmer from the Fall 2012 On Safari collection.

I then added some stripes from the Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark 03 plate using Essie No Place Like Chrome. I like how these stripes are a little 'distressed' looking. They aren't your regular simple stripes. The effect is cool. I finished with topcoat as always.

Essie Starry Starry Night with Moon & Star Stamping

Hi everyone! Today I have a stamped mani to share with you using the Moyou Scandi 10 plate again. I am absolutely LOVING this plate. The images are so perfect and work well mixed together. You might have already seen my previous manis using this plate here and here but this time I wanted to go for more of a night sky look.

I started out with 2 coats of Essie Starry Starry Night (the rerelease version). I then used Essie No Place Like Chrome, a silver metallic to stamp with the Moyou Scandi plate. I finished with topcoat as always. I really love this design over the Starry Starry Night base. It really looks like a night sky.

Alter Ego - Midsummer Night's Dream (Polish Pickup March 2018 - Books) & Respite Bath Crumbs

Press Sample/Review

Hi everyone! I have the March Polish Pick Up Exclusive from Alter Ego for you today as well as a new product from the brand, Bath Crumbs! Keep reading for more info on those!

The Polish Pick Up theme for March is 'Books'. Cynthia from Alter Ego has made a polish inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream for her contribution. I don't have an inspiration photo to show you as Cynthia explained that she went with her gut on this one and felt this fitted the book well.

Midsummer Night's dream is a shimmery gunmetal grey metallic. I used 3 thin coats and topcoat. 2 coats probably would have been fine. The formula was a little on the thicker side but easy enough to work with. I will note that I found that this one did have an odor to it. Cynthia explained that this may be the blue pigment used but that she hadn't noticed. I am quite sensitive to smells so it may just be me but I prefer to mention it. I could use the polish without any problem though, unlike things such as Seche Vite which give me a migraine. So don't worry it's nowhere near that!

This is a great 'basic' polish in my opinion. It will match pretty much any outfit and I like this finish a lot. There's a hint of sparkle that catches the light.

I also tested out some new Bath Crumbs from the brand. I got the Sweet Orange scent to try out. The Bath Crumbs can be used, as their name suggests, in a bath but also as an effervescent soak for hands or feet. I tried them out on my hands before doing a new mani. I love pampering treatments like this for my hands, especially with this cold weather we're having here right now! My hands are so dry! I added some of the crumbs to a bowl of warm water and soaked my hands for about 8-10 minutes. I was surprised by the amount of thick and luxurious foam the crumbs made! There was more than I'm used to with products I've tried like this but it is lovely. Just be sure not to overfill your container like I did otherwise it will foam over the top!! The Sweet Orange scent was very pleasant and very importantly for me, not too overwhelming or artificial smelling. My hands felt soft and moisturised when I was done. A (soft and silky) thumbs up from me!

Midsummer Night's Dream &  will be available from March 2nd at 11am EST until March 5th at 11:59pm EST along with polishes from other brands with the 'Books' theme!

The Bath Crumbs are a permanent item at Alter Ego and are not exclusive to Polish Pickup.

OPI Never a Dulles Moment

Hi everyone! I have a quick swatch post to share with you today with a yellow polish that I LOVE! I know, crazy right? I'm not generally a fan of yellow polish but this one won me over completely.

OPI Never a Dulles Moment is a yellow creme, I feel like it has a touch of 'dustiness' to it as well. Maybe that's why I like it. I used 2 coats and topcoat.

I only tried this polish as I got a set of minis from the Washington DC collection as a gift but I think I might need a full size bottle of this one! It's stunning and so fun! Sorry for the awkward mini bottle photos! LOL!

What do you think of it? Do you like yellow polish?

Orly Preamp & Reverse Stamped Flower

Hi everyone! Today I have another pink mani to share with you. After this one, I promise there'll be other colours! I've just been loving pink nails recently!

For this one I started out with 2 coats of Orly Preamp, a blue-toned pink full of shimmery flecks. The formula is on the thicker side but nothing unmanageable and everything evens out nicely. The colour isn't the most flattering on my skin tone unfortunately. I apologise for that coupled with the super dry hands, I'm working on it, apparently my skin just hates me right now! But hey, I figured I'd be real and post the 'fail' anyway!

I then used Lina Nail Art Supplies Let's Doodle 01 plate, Girly Bits Gettin Figgy With It and OPI Mod About You for the stamped flower accent nail. I did my thumbs too but you can't see on the photos. I topped with topcoat as always. I'm loving this Lina plate for reverse stamped flowers. They're so cute and fun!

What do you think of this one? Are you sick of pink manis by now??
