A England - Sparks Divine Subtle Stamping

Hi everyone! Today I have another stamped mani for you today, I know right? I'm on a stamping kick right now!

If you're a regular reader, you might know that I'm a huge A England fan and can neverwait to get my hands on new colours. Sparks Divine was originally released in November at the same time as Whispering Waves but there was a bit of a problem. The colour released (and purchased) was not the correct one due to a fabrication error. In fact, there was no holographic pigment like on the promo pictures. I'll admit it was a little bit of a surprise when opening my package. Adina had the problem corrected and the 'correct' version of Sparks Divine was recently released. The first version is now to be considered as a limited edition. So although it was a disappointment to receive the 'wrong' polish, it is kind of cool to have both versions now.

A England - Sparks Divine - Versions 1 & 2

I decided to do a bit of nail art with both to show you them. I used 2 coats of the 'original' release which is a darker brown colour with only a hint of holographic pigment on all nails except my ring finger. I then used 2 coats of the new version, a golden nude holographic, on my ring fingernail. I really love this colour. I think it will be a great go-to neutral and as always the scattered holo effect of A England is really pretty.

I then used the new version of Sparks Divine and the Moyou Pro XL 01 plate to stamp. I like how subtle the design came out. It actually makes me think of some of the first 'subtle' stamped manis I saw that got me to try stamping for myself.

So there you go, both versions of Sparks Divine! What do you think of them? Did you get one of them or both?

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 5 - Madam Luck

Hi everyone! It's already the last day of Nail Heroes week! For today's mani I chose to recreate a mani by Madam Luck! I always admire Madam Luck's stamped manis in particular and I wish I had more patience with stamping (maybe I will when my new clear stamper gets here?). Anyway, I love Madam Luck's stamping combinations and colour schemes and recently saw this gorgeous mani on her Instagram. I've recreated it using the same idea though I don't own the same polishes or stamp, so it is a looser take on it.

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 5 - Madam Luck

I started out with two coats of Kiko 275, a black creme. I then used the Moyou Bridal 07 plate and China Glaze Cherish (green), Adore (blue), Harmony (purple). These 3 polishes are metallics from the 2009 Romantique collection and they work so well for stamping!

I really love how this turned out and I will definitely be trying more multicoloured stamping and trying to be more adventurous in stamping in general. What do you think of this mani? I hope you've enjoyed this month's Digit-al Dozen theme. Don't forget to check out the manis from the other DD ladies!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nail Heroes - Day 4 - Pshiiit

Hi everyone! Today is already Day 4 of Nail Heroes Week with the Digit-al Dozen! Today I have recreated a mani from one of my favourite bloggers turned stockist, Pshiiit!

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 4 - Pshiiit - OPI My Vampire is Buff & Butter London Rosie Lee

I have followed Camille a.k.a Pshiiit for as long as I can remember. I love her detailed blog posts and her style, notably a fan of blue and geometric, striking nail art. I admire her a lot for her nails but I have chosen to honour her in Nail Hero week also because she has made it easier for us to get various brands here in France, through the Pshiiit Boutique! I have been a customer since her very first launch and her attention to detail and customer service is always perfect! I have lost count of how many polishes I have purchased from her!

I have also had the pleasure of meeting Camille and she is as sweet in real life as she is online! For today's nail art, I decided to recreate one of her 'older' manis, one which made me actually purchase a polish almost immediately. After seeing this simple triangle mani done with Butter London Rosie Lee and Essie Sand Tropez, I just HAD to have the Butter London.

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 4 - Pshiiit - OPI My Vampire is Buff & Butter London Rosie Lee

I decided to use OPI My Vampire is Buff for my base, which to me is the perfect nude/pink. OPI do these shades so well. I then used some tape to form the triangles at the cuticles and sponged on Rosie Lee instead of using the brush directly because my bottle is now in need of a bit of thinner... It is still pretty though! It is a good pink glitter, not too bright, not too dull and very wearable. I finished off with Rosie Lee on my accent nail and topcoat of course.

What do you think of this mani? Are you a Pshiiit fan too? I'm sure you know her already but if not, go check out her work! (Pshiiit Blog, Facebook, Instagram, Boutique, Boutique Instagram)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nail Heroes - Day 3 - A England

Hi everyone! Today is Day 3 of Nail Heroes week already and I have a different interpretation of the theme today. I've decided to honour one of my absolute favourite brands, A England!

I can't say enough good things about this brand. I love the concepts, inspiration, colours and formulas! I own all of them, though I do of course have my favourites. As you might know, my favourite colour is purple. I decided for my Nail Heroes post to pull out some of my A England purples to show them off in a watermarble design! Yes, they also work amazingly for marbling!

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 3 - A England

I started out by applying a base of Cathy to provide a light canvas for the marble to really pop. I then used Avalon, Elaine, Dancing with Nuryev, Guinevere and Cathy to marble, making a closely-packed stripe design. I LOVE these colours together and they remind me of precious stones with lots of different coloured layers! I of course finished everything off with a coat of topcoat.

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 3 - A England

What do you think of this mani? Do you like A England polishes? I think a brand who makes me want to buy everything they make gives them Nail Hero status in my books! Thanks Adina!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nail Heroes - Day 2 - Flickanail

Hi everyone! It's Day 2 of Nail Heroes week with The Digit-al Dozen! I really admire a lot of Japanese nail artists on Instagram and love seeing their style of nail art. What I seem to be drawn to most is the cute and well thought out skittlette manis that seem to be popular. I'm not a huge skittlette fan in general but I LOVE how many Japanese artists I follow seem to have such a knack for creating them!

Saori Nakagawa aka Flickanail is one of my favourites! Her designs range from simple to intricate and are so recogniseable on my IG feed!

I recently saw a purple and silver skittlette with a stunning marble type design and art deco feel to it at the same time and knew I wanted to recreate it.

I think that Flickanail works with gel but this is my regular polish version!

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 2 - Flickanail - Purple & Silver Skittlette

I started out by using 2 coats of The Knight Bus from Paint Box Polish for the purple nails. I then used black acrylic paint to freehand the scale design then went over it with China Glaze Icicle and a small dotting tool.

I used two coats of Icicle on my middle fingernail. For my ring finger I started out with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls to give me an off white/grey base for the marble gradient swirl design (can you tell I'm not really sure what to call it?). I then used a fan brush and black and white acrylic paint to create a gradient in a sweeping motion across the nail and finished with topcoat.

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 2 - Flickanail - Purple & Silver Skittlette

Overall I like how this turned out. I'll definitely be trying the sweeping gradient again. It is easily my favourite part of this mani! What do you think of it? I highly suggest you check out Flickanail on Instagram. She is awesome!

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 1 - The Crumpet

Hi everyone! Today is Day 1 of a new Digit-al Dozen Week! This month we are doing manis around the theme 'Nail Heroes'. I'll be interpreting this theme in a few different ways this week so I hope you'll enjoy it!

For Day 1, I have recreated a mani by our Digit-al Dozen leader Debbie from The Crumpet! Some of my favourite Crumpet manis are dotticures and designs using dots and I knew I just had to do this simple and striking dotted floral

The Digit-al Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 1 - The Crumpet - OPI Dotted Florals

I don't have the same polishes Debbie used but I found some I think work well. I started out with 2 coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, one of the best nail art base colours ever! I am so in love with this polish. Whether it is decorated or alone it always looks fantastic. I then used a large dotting tool and OPI Pink Flamenco, OPI Toucan Do It If You Try and OPI Big Apple Red to create the flowers. I then used a small dotting tool and black polish (A England Camelot) to add the small dots in the centres of the flowers.

Debbie wore this design matte but I forgot and applied shiny topcoat. I loved how it looked so I left it like that. I'm more of a shiny mani girl anyway! Thanks for the inspiration Crumpet! I think I will definitely be redoing this design in the future!

Valentine's Day Watermarble - Pipe Dream Polish V.I.P. Pass & OPI Mod About You

Hi everyone! You might have seen last month that I joined in with the group mani organised in the Pipe Dream Polish fan group on Facebook (if you missed it, you can check it out here). This month brings another prompt and another group mani! The theme this month is Valentine's Day so here is my Valentine's inspired look!

Valentine's Marble - Pipe Dream Polish V.I.P. Pass & OPI Mod About You

I used Pipe Dream Polish V.I.P. Pass which is my absolute favourite from the brand. It is so me! I even bought a back-up bottle because I never want to run out! It is perfect worn alone and of course for nail art and watermarbling! So I did a bit of both with it for this mani.

I started out with 2 coats of V.I.P. Pass for my plain nails and 2 coats of OPI Mod About You for the accent nails. I then used V.I.P. Pass and Clearwater for the marble. I then added a small heart on the other pale pink nail using a dotting tool and white acrylic paint to outline. I finished everything off with topcoat.

What do you think? Be sure to check out the other manis with the hashtag #pdpeepsfeb

Negative Space Heart - OPI Big Apple Red

Hi everyone! Today I have another Valentine's Day design for you (or an anytime design because I would totally wear this any day of the year).

This is more your typical red mani but with a negative space twist. I started out with 2 coats of OPI Big Apple Red on all of my nails. This is one of my absolute favourite reds and definitely my go to when I want a red creme for nail art. I love it on it's own like this too. Red nails don't need much to look great.

Valentine's Day Negative Space Heart - OPI Big Apple Red

For the accent nail, I then used my e.l.f clean up brush and acetone to draw the cut out heart. I then used a fine detail brush and white acrylic paint to outline it. I then finished everything off with a coat of topcoat! So simple and quick!

Valentine's Day Negative Space Heart - OPI Big Apple Red

I think this design is a classy and understated way to to Valentine's nails without it being too much! What do you think? Have you decided what you will wear on your nails for the occasion?

Valentine's Day Chocolate Box - 6 Harts, OPI & Essie

Hi everyone! Today I have a simple Valentine's Day mani for you! I had a few ideas for Valentine's designs this year that I wanted to share with you though I'm not sure I will get around to them all! I did however want to do this one for you which I feel is a bit of a change from the typical all red and pink colour schemes.

This design is inspired by boxes of chocolate! I used 2 coats of BBLB from 6 Harts for my base. If you're a regular reader, you've probably heard me gush about this one before. It is the most perfect chocolate brown creme ever. The colour is perfect and so are the formula and application.

Valentine's Day Chocolate Box - 6 Harts BBLB, OPI & Essie

I then used OPI Big Apple Red, Pink Flamenco, Mod About You and Essie Splash of Grenadine and different sized dotting tools to make a dotted heart on my ring fingers and some dots horizontally in the centre of my other nails. As always, I finished with topcoat.

Valentine's Day Chocolate Box - 6 Harts BBLB, OPI & Essie

I like the fact that this mani is a bit different and it really does make me think of chocolates! I don't celebrate Valentine's Day but I love an excuse for a good girly mani! Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? What will you be wearing on your nails?

Superficially Colorful Lacquer - You Can Call Me Black & Witch You Were Here Blobbicure

Hi everyone! Today I have a simple design with two polishes from Superficially Colorful Lacquer.

You Can Call Me Black is an Limited Edition polish Jin created for Black Friday and it is gorgeous! It is a plum holo with a pink flash to it. I really love this type of colour and I can see myself wearing it a lot. The formula was good, slightly on the thicker side but I had no issues with application.

Superficially Colorful Lacquer - You Can Call Me Black & Witch You Were Here Blobbicure

I paired You Can Call Me Black with the rich purple holo from the Halloween collection to create a subtle blobbicure! I can't wait to wear this colour on it's own now! It is so so pretty! I finished everything off with topcoat as usual.

Superficially Colorful Lacquer - You Can Call Me Black & Witch You Were Here Blobbicure

What do you think of this mani? Have you tried any Superficially Colorful Lacquer? If you're a regular reader here you'll know that I have been a huge fan since Jin started out making polish. She now makes soaps ans mani fizzes as well and I can't wait to try those! I'm really happy that Superficially Colorful Lacquer is being featured in the Spread Indie Love campaign this month!
