Hydrangeas for Mother's Day

Hi everyone! Today is my very first Mother's Day and I wanted to share the mani I'm wearing for the occasion!

I recently purchased a nail art book by my friend Emily (The Lacquerologist) and just knew her Hydrangea design was the first one I wanted to try! I absolutely love hydrangeas! They're such a cheerful and pretty flower and I love Emily's simple dotted design! I also thought they would be so perfect for Mother's Day.

Hydrangea Nail Art

I started out by painting my base of Zoya's Shelby, a vivid pink creme. I needed 3 coats for good coverage as the formula is a little bit tricky and I had slight unevenness with 2. I then used Zoya Rocky, Zoya Blu, OPI No Room For the Blues for the dotted flowers and Essie Mojito Madness and acrylic paint for the leaves.

Hydrangea Nail Art

I don't often follow tutorials but I really enjoyed trying something new and recreating Emily's design. I love the finished result even if I did get a bit enthusiastic and do more dots than in her version (check out her blog post with this design here).

If you fancy trying out her cool tutorials you can pick up Emily's book, Idiot's Guides: Nail Art from Amazon. I know I'll be trying plenty more of the designs soon! Congrats again Emily!

Glam Polish Tiffany

Hi everyone! Today I have the gorgeous Tiffany from Glam polish for you! This is also a special post as my manicure is inspired by Gosia from the blog Colorful Crack who has recently decided to stop blogging and I thought it would be nice to do some manicures for her with some friends! We're using the hashtag #manisforgosia. Feel free to join in!

Glam Polish - Tiffany
I enjoy visiting Gosia's blog for her lovely swatches and stamping. I always particularly enjoy her Glam polish swatches and I have wanted to try the brand for a long time. Tiffany is my first Glam Polish and I have to say I am not disappointed! I really love the colour, the holo and the strong golden shimmer. I used two coats of Tiffany and a coat of topcoat to finish.

For my accent nails I stamped the swirl image from the Moyou Sailor 06 plate and Barry M Instant Nail Effects polish in Gold (320).

I love how this mani turned out and I hope Gosia will like it too! I'd like to wish her all the best and will continue to follow her on her IG and Pinterest :)

Girly Bits Serendipity (A Box, Indied March Exclusive)

Hi everyone! Today I have a gorgeous polish to show you. In fact I think it's probably one of my all-time favourite polishes.

As soon as I saw pictures and swatches of this polish, I knew I had to have it. I don't have a subscription for A Box, Indied! and I didn't really want to buy the box just for one polish so I posted a few ISOs in polish groups and eventually got lucky! I was so happy to get hold of this!

Pam's polishes are always gorgeous but the texture of this one is just so special. It has a rose gold/bronze type base with pink and lavender glitters and a gorgeous medium holo finish. The glitter and the colour are lovely in the shade and the holo and glitter make it fantastic in the sun.

Girly Bits Serendipity (A Box, Indied, March 2015)

I do have to say I had the worst time photographing this polish and realised only after removing it that I didn't capture it very well. I hope to wear it again soon and get some better photos!

Girly Bits Serendipity (A Box, Indied, March 2015)

Pam is really killing it with her box exclusives and I end up wanting every single one!
Unfortunately the only way to purchase this polish now is by finding it second-hand but you can find plenty more gorgeous Girly Bits polishes on the Girly Bits Cosmetics website.
Keep up with new releases and restock information by liking Girly Bits Cosmetics on Facebook.

A Box, Indied can be purchased each month at Llarowe

Stripes and Floral Nail Art - We Will Miss You Set In Lacquer

Hi everyone! Today I have a special post with some nail art dedicated to a lovely friend, Kelly from Set in Lacquer. Kelly has recently decided to make a lifestyle change and will no longer be blogging. You can read her post here if you missed it. A few blogger friends and I wanted to get together and do some Set in Lacquer tribute manis to let her know how much we love her and her blog!

Set in Lacquer recreation - Floral Stripes nail art - OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?

I had a look back through Kelly's nail art posts and just knew I had to do something floral. Kelly loves floral nail art and is amazing at coming up with lovely flower designs. I came across this one and remembered loving it when she posted. I decided it was the one I wanted to recreate.

I used different colours because I don't have the Milani polishes that Kelly used and also just because its fun to switch things up!

I started out my mani with 2 coats of OPI 'Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?' which is a great beige/nude creme polish with a fantastic formula. I love this polish for nail art. I then added the stripes using my Color Club Art Club liner in 'You're Golden'. These stripers are so practical for quick nail art and they come in loads of colours.

I then added the daisy-like flowers at the base of my nails using acrylic paints, a fine detail brush and a dotting tool.

I really love how this nail art turned out and hope that Kelly will like it! I have so enjoyed following her blog and wish her all the best!

You can check out Kelly's amazing swatches and nail art looks at Set in Lacquer, on her Facebook page and IG. Please do check out the other beautiful manis for Kelly with the hashtag #wewillmissyouSetInLacquer and feel free to post a mani for her yourself!

A England Captive Goddess (Rosetti's Goddess Collection)

Hi everyone! Today I have another beauty from the A England Rosetti's Goddess collection to show you. After Incense Burner, this is the one I was most excited to try next. Captive Goddess is a gorgeous light grey scattered holo with a strong teal shimmer and slight violet shift.

A England - Captive Goddess

This is another complex shade which changes depending on the light. I used 2 easy coats of Captive Goddess and one coat of topcoat. The formula was fantastic as I have come to expect from A England.

A England polishes can be purchased from the A England website for those of you in the UK and various other retailers (see the complete list here). I purchased mine from Pshiiit.

A England Incense Burner (Rosetti's Goddess Collection)

Hi everyone! Today I have a gorgeous polish from the most recent A England collection to show you. You might already know that A England is one of my most favourite brands so I was excited to try more. I ordered the Rosetti's Goddess collection as soon as possible and let me tell you, it does not disappoint! Each shade is gorgeous but I was so drawn to Incense Burner that I had to wear it first! I even did my pedi with it. I'm fussy with colours for my toes but I love this one!

A England - Incense Burner

Incense Burner is a surprise of a polish. In most of the promo pics and bottle shots I saw, it appears brown but in reality the base is purple. The multichrome particles make it seem more golden and chocolatey brown in certain lighting and purple with a hint of blue in others. It really is a complex and sophisticated shade.

A England - Incense Burner

I used 2 coats of Incense Burner and as with all A Englands the formula is fantastic. It was almost a one-coater for me. Everything about this polish is perfection in my opinion. It's definitely one of my favourite A Englands (and I have them all so that's saying something!). Adina has really outdone herself with this one.
