The Lacquer Legion - On Holiday - Freehand Palm Tree Beach Scene

Hi everyone! It's Lacquer Legion time again today! (I swear this month has just gone by so fast! Eek!) This month's theme is 'On Holiday' (#LLOnHoliday).

I'll admit I had more trouble thinking of something fun to do for this month's prompt (as opposed to #LLGarden where I had too many ideas!). The first thing I thought of was a beach or palm tree mani and despite coming up with a few others, this was what I kept coming back to. I decided to steer myself away from the tropical sunset/silhouette palm tree design I was going to do and do a daytime beach scene!

The Seas Collection from Elevation Polish was screaming out to me to be used in this manicure! I mean, painting the sea, with sea-inspired polishes just makes sense right?!

The Lacquer Legion - On Holiday - Elevation Polish Bohai Sea & The Med 2

I started out with one coat (yes ONE COAT!) of Bohai Sea, a beautiful medium-density blue holographic polish. I then used some white acrylic paint as a base for the sea/sand part of the design so that the colours would pop against the blue. I used yellow acrylic paint for the sand and The Med 2 for the sea. Lulu describes this shade as a 'Blue Teal with micro green shimmer and green/gold medium sized shimmer'. After using it for this nail art, I can't wait to wear it as a whole mani!

I then sponged a little bit of Weddell Sea onto the blue sky to create clouds. I used 6 Harts Bad Bad Lulu Brown for the palm tree stems and acrylic paints for the rest. I finished it off with a coat of topcoat.

To me this is a perfect holiday scene. I want to be on holiday already now!

Paisley Nails - Born Pretty Store Comma Rhinestones

Press Sample/Review

Hi everyone! Today I have some Paisley nail art to show you!

I had been wanting to redo some Paisley patterned nails for a while and when I was sent these comma-shaped rhinestones from Born Pretty Store, I knew they would be perfect for the design I had in mind.

I started out my manicure with 2 coats of Elevation Polish Mount McKinley described by Lulu as a 'bright lilac jelly creme'. This is a lovely shiny, squishy, pretty shade for summer. I love it.

I then used acrylic paints to paint the basic shapes for my paisley pattern. I used a fine detail brush for the outlines then added the dots with a small dotting tool. I then added the comma shaped rhinestones into the centres of each shape using my dotting tool and some topcoat. I finished everything off with a coat of topcoat.

The rhinestones held really well and I wore this manicure for 4 days with no issues. I don't really have anything negative to say about these. They are perfectly shaped and cut, with a good variety of colours in the wheel and they will last me forever. I only wish that there were some shaped with the pointed end in the opposite direction. I hope that makes sense...like two apostrophes. That way I could have used them more easily any way around and in all of the shapes in this design rather than falling back on regular round rhinestones.

Glitter Polkadots - Born Pretty Store Circle Glitter

Press Sample/Review

Hi everyone! Today I have a pretty simple manicure for you using some loose glitter.

I started out my manicure with two coats of China Glaze For Audrey. I wanted this polish for a long time and recently got it from my friend Michelle over at Ehmkay Nails and was so excited to try it out. It's a lovely bright turquoise creme with a good formula.

I used 2 coats of Enchanted Polish Dime Piece for my accent nail to match the silver holographic glitter.

The circle glitters I used are from Born Pretty Store, a site which sells a variety of nail art supplies and decorations.
(You can see my recent review on their studs and diamond glitter here)

I used topcoat and an orange stick to pick up individual pieces of glitter and place them onto my nails in a spaced out polka dot pattern. I really liked these glitters. They held well and were smooth with a coat of topcoat. Unlike some other glitters I have used for nail art, they are well cut and regular. I like that they are holographic too and you can see flashes of rainbow colours in the sun.

This was a very blingy manicure but I actually really enjoyed wearing it!

Arrow Nails! (Elevation Polish Black Ice)

Hi everyone! Today I have a short and sweet post for you. I just wanted to show you a fun little mani I wore a couple of weeks ago.

I'm obsessed with the TV series Arrow! I'm not usually a huge fan of shows like this but there are just so many things I love about this one. The story is great, the actors are great (and cute...) and I always find myself looking forward to the next episode!

So I decided to do some Arrow themed nails! This is two easy coats of Elevation Polish Black Ice which Lulu describes as 'Dark Charcoal with loads of silver and white shimmer and hints of multi colored shimmer with a matte finish'. The rainbow shimmer really makes this polish special in my opinion. It looks good with and without topcoat too!

I freehanded the Arrow logo/title using a fine detail brush and acrylic paints and finished it off with a coat of topcoat!

I enjoyed wearing this mani a lot. What do you think of it? Do you like Arrow?
P.S if anyone knows what lipsticks Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity) wears in the show, I would LOVE to know! Finding this out is a small obsession of mine. I need them!

Enchanted Polish - Scintealliant (Pshiiit Exclusive)

Hi everyone! Today I have the Pshiiit Exclusive by Enchanted Polish to show you. This is Scintealliant. If you follow Camille on her blog, you might know teal is her favourite. So it comes as no surprise that Chelsea would create a teal exclusive for her shop!

Enchanted Polish Scintealliant (Pshiiit Boutique Exclusive)

Scintealliant is a rich and saturated teal holographic with blue and purple flashes. This is literally the most perfect teal polish ever and is a refreshing change from Enchanted Polish. Don't get me wrong, I think Enchanted Polishes are lovely but recently I just haven't felt the urge to pick any up (apart from Dime Piece).  This one however, is a stunner!

What you see here is two coats of Scintealliant. The formula and application were really nice. I found it to be a little on the the thicker side for a holographic but application requires next to no effort whatsoever.

I did plan to do some nail art on this manicure but I ended up not bothering. It was so stunning alone that I decided to leave it that way and enjoy it.

What do you think of this one? I'm sorry to blog something which is tricky to get and I'm not sure if it will be coming back but if it does, you need to be fast at the restock over at the Pshiiit Boutique.
