Born Pretty Store - Review - Studs and Glequins

Press Sample/Review
Hi everyone!

Today I am reviewing a couple of items from Born Pretty Store, a site which sells a huge variety of nail art supplies. I have previously purchased nail art supplies from Born Pretty Store so I was happy to review for them.

You will find useful links at the end of this post.

First up are these gold diamond-shaped holographic glequins. These are the sort of nail art decoration I like to wear sparingly, in a skittlette or as an accent nail for a touch of sparkle. I started my mani with 2 coats of Barry M Gelly in Plum, a shiny deep purple. Then using a touch of topcoat and a dotting tool I applied the glequins to my nails.

I finished things off with a coat of topcoat to smooth it out. Overall I liked these glequins. The only negative is that most of them have one edge which is not completely straight. This may just be a batch issue or my bottle. However they are very affordable and you get a lot in the bottle/jar so no real complaints. I don't think I'll ever run out!

The next item is a wheel of various metallic flat-backed studs. There are gold and silver studs in different sizes. I used the smallest gold ones for this mani. I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colours Nice Stems, a pastel mint-green shade. I left a bare space at the cuticle on two nails then used some topcoat and a dotting tool to apply the small studs along the lines between the colour and the bare nail. I then continued the lines onto the polished area. I like the result and it reminded me somewhat of an envelope, albeit an abstract version.

The studs were easy enough to pick up and didn't stick together. Some of the edges could be a little bit smoother on these small gold ones but you'd have to look very closely to notice. The other studs in the wheel do not have this issue though. Like I said for the glequins, considering the price and quantity I do not think it is a big issue. I do advise careful topcoat application with them as the colour can bleed a little if you drag the brush on them too much (you can see this in my photo).

All in all I like the items and I have previously purchased myself from them without any issues. I would recommend their water decals too. The prices are really good and they offer free shipping worldwide. Do bear in mind the shipping time depending on where you are located. In my experience items can take 2-3 weeks to Europe.
