Superficially Colorful Lacquer - Remnants of Winter Collection - Swatches and Review

Press Release

Hi everyone! Today I have an exciting soon to be released indie collection for you. This is the 'Remnants of Winter' collection from Superficially Colorful Lacquer. This collection is inspired by winter and it's changing weather and composed of five blackened metallic/shimmer shades with a sprinkle of holographic micro-glitter.

So let's get started! You'll see Jin's (the lovely lady behind Superficially Colorful Lacquer) descriptions of the colours in lighter purple text.

This is Cape Cliffs

'Dark forest green inspired by seaside cliffs covered in moss and sea weed after the rough seas of winter.'

I loved this shade and picked it out to try first. A lovely deep green with a great glow. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Next up is Turbulence.

'A dark violet-pink with a hint of color shift of blue, red and gold. Not a multi chrome, just an un-decided color that changes with the light. Inspired by the un-quiet air, the faraway lightning storms, the clouds colliding and leaving.'

One of my favourites of the collection. I love the colour shift in this one as well as the holographic specks. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Mud Slide.

'A deep dark golden brown, inspired by the look of the roads in the winter. This is the color of the earth under the snow, the un-paved road washed by the rivers that went too high. This is the color of my winter.'

A beautiful metallic glowy brown which makes me think of caramel. I loved this on my skin tone. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Seconds Before Dark.

'The strange weather of winter causes all sorts of colors in the sky at sun set. But just before the sun is gone, a deep crimson red is in control. This very dark red polish is inspired by that image.'

A lovely deep burgundy red. I loved how this pulled a little brown on me and found the shade flattering with my colouring. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Eye Of The Storm.

'A very dark and cold blue pearly-shimmer polish Inspired by the crazy storms this weird winter gave us. Heavy clouds, unquiet sky and wild lightning storms.'

I really liked this glimmering blue. Deep and glowing. I imagine this would be good for galaxy nails! 2 coats plus topcoat.

All in all, I think this is a well thought out collection. The colours compliment eachother beautifully and I will definitely be trying them out for nail art. They all have similar formulas. I found that careful application on the first coat and working quite quickly to be the easiest. The second coat levels everything out well. They do dry a little bit gritty and topcoat really brings out the best in them.

This collection will be releasing (along with some thermal colour-changing polishes) when Jin at Superficially Colorful Lacquer opens her shop on the 3rd of March. I'll be stalking the restock for sure!
Please note that the labels on bottles purchased from the store will be different to the temporary labels on my bottles.
Superficially Colorful Lacquers will be available on the  Superficially Colorful site and Facebook to keep up with releases, info and sneak peeks!

The products in this post was provided for my honest review.
