Dark Valentine - Kiko 446 Dark Cherry & Elevation Polish Yeti's Broken Heart

Hi everyone! Today I have what I think is a darker alternative to the usual pink and red Valentine's manicures (not that I don't love those too! See my other Valentine nail art here!). I just felt like doing something a little bit different and Elevation Polish Yeti's Broken Heart inspired me to go for darker colours.

I chose to use Kiko 446 Dark Cherry from the limited edition Satin Nail Lacquer box set. Dark Cherry is the colour you'd expect from the name, a deep purple full of silver micro shimmer which gives it amazing depth. Application and formula were great as always with Kiko. It is impossible to go wrong with them, especially considering the great price. I used 2 coats for my manicure. Drying time was fast.

I painted my little fingernail with Essie Blanc and then freehanded a heart with the Kiko Dark Cherry and outlined it with a fine detail brush and black acrylic paint. I then did the same thing but with the colours inversed on my index finger.

I then added Elevation Polish Yeti's Broken Heart to the 2 nails without nail art. The Dark Cherry base goes well with the mix of white glitter and the purple, black and white hearts. Yeti's Broken Heart was a limited edition polish for Valentine's (sorry!) and follows on from Yeti Loves The Holidays which came out for Christmas.

Yeti's Broken Heart had a good formula and it was not hard to get plenty of glitter out with each dip of the brush. I slightly placed some of the heart glitters but that was about all the effort needed. I love this polish and I think it would be lovely over almost any colour. I already have more mani ideas for it.

What do you think of this mani? What are you wearing for Valentine's Day?

Elevation polishes can be purchased from the Elevation Polish store and Llarowe.
Kiko polishes are available in Kiko stores in Europe and from www.kikocosmetics.com.
