Totoro - Kiko Light Tiffany & Julie G Silver Bells

Hi everyone! Today I have a sort of unofficial 6th japanese mani for you!

This mani is for my friend Jen, one of my polish world besties and blogger behind the awesome My Nail Polish Obsession! Jen requested that I do Totoro nails and of course I was thrilled to do it and turn it into a whole Jen-inspired manicure!

The first thing which came to mind when thinking of ideas for this mani was to do something Jen is so good at...so of course I just had to do a skittlette!

I started out with 2 coats of Kiko 450 Light Tiffany from the limited edition Satin Nail Lacquer box set. This polish, as the name suggests, is a tiffany blue with a micro-pearl shimmer finish. The shimmer is quite subtle but lovely. I used 2 coats on all my nails, except the middle and index. Formula and application were great. You can see my manicure using another polish from this set, True Red, here).

On the remaining 2 nails, I applied 2 coats of Julie G Silver Bells from the Frosted Gumdrops Holiday 2013 collection (without topcoat). This collection is simply stunning, much like the first set! Formula and application were good too. I can't wait to try out all the colours and some nail art using them!

For the design, I used acrylic paints and a fine detail brush to freehand Totoro and sealed with topcoat. I can't say I'm too familiar with this character, apart from having seen the name and some pictures but he certainly is cute!

I hope Jen loves this manicure as much I enjoyed doing it for her! Be sure to check out her awesome skittlettes over at My Nail Polish Obsession

What do you think of it? Are you a fan of Totoro?

Kiko polishes are available in Kiko stores in Europe and from www.kikocosmetics.com.
Julie G polishes are available at various retailers and the Jesse's Girl Cosmetics site.
