I could not let this theme week pass without doing nail art inspired by one of my favourite foods ever...sushi! I really love it and if I get takeaway food with my husband we are more likely to choose sushi over pizza or the like!
We love maki and california rolls especially so I decided to do some maki on my nails!
Japanese Week - Sushi - OPI Glints of Glinda & China Glaze Fairy Dust |
I started off my mani with 2 coats of Glints of Glinda by OPI from their Oz The Great and Powerful collection. This is my go to shade for french manicures but I decided to use it today to provide a simple and discreet base for my sushi design. I decided to add a little sparkle with China Glaze Fairy Dust which in my opinion is one of the most versatile glitters! I use it over gradients (like this one here) and over just about anything to add a little sparkle actually.

I then used acrylic paints and a fine detail brush and dotting tool to paint the maki starting with the 'tuna' etc in the middle and working my way outwards. I finished with a coat of topcoat as always.
Haha love it! I would have never thought of putting sushi on my nails, but it looks so great :) and I loooooove sushi!
