This is a simple mani to do and I loved how it turned out. So here is how I did it.
I started out with 2 coats of Essie Butler Please from the Winter 2012 collection. This collection was a huge hit for me and this stunning cobalt blue creme was among my top picks from it (along with Leading Lady and Beyond Cozy!).

Butler Please is a great blue to have in your collection if you are looking for a great, versatile creme. It is one of my go-to colours which I can put on when I need cheering up or a quick bright mani. It may not be the most unique colour ever but it's certainly a staple for me. The formula is nice and easy to work with. I used 2 coats for full opacity. It does dry slightly matte alone which I found quite surprising the first time I tried it. I prefer it with topcoat but I suppose it could be worn without if you want to keep the semi-matte effect.

I then added a coat of OPI Servin' Up Sparkle from one of the Serena Williams Grand Slam England Duo (the other shade in the duo being Grape...Set...Match! which I actually don't own boohoo!!).
Servin' Up Sparkle does exactly as it's name suggests. This is a clear-based polish packed with silver holographic hex glitter and micro glitter. This is a crazy sparkly polish and I love it. Its the sort of polish that can be worn over absolutely any base colour.

I then did a little bit of simple nail art as an accent nail using some tape and striping tape to make a simple christmas tree with A-England Excalibur (the original version) which is a silver metallic foil. This is a great polish for nail art because, like a lot of A Englands, with careful application, it can be a one-coater, at least for nail art. This is another good basic to have.
Finally, I topped the tree with a star shaped silver stud and finished things off with a coat of topcoat.

This manicure was simple and quick to do and I already want to do more of these tape tree designs!
What do you think of it?
Essie and OPI polishes are available from various retailers.
A-England polishes can be purchased from the A-England website for those of you in the UK and various other retailers (see the complete list here).
I love the tape tree - it's so simple and effective! And ahh, Servin' Up Sparkle! That was my first glitter (as an adult nailophile; I would have had tacky glitters as a kid, no doubt) when it came out two or three years ago!
