Elevation Polish Toubkal & Julie G Gift Of Gold

Hi everyone! Today I have another festive combination for you!

This is actually the mani I wore for my work Christmas lunch. I wanted something simple and festive but glamourous at the same time. I think this worked out well.

I picked out the amazing Toubkal from Elevation Polish, a lovely burgundy jelly polish packed with golden microflakes! Lulu, the creator of Elevation Polish describes this shade as 'Darkened Red Purple with Gold, Red, Pink large irregularly shaped shimmer'.
I also love her description of the inspiration behind this polish ; 'Part of the Morocco Collection. Toubkal has one of the most amazing summits. The view from the top is nothing short of spectacular. You can see for miles and miles but I got fixated on the valleys below and how all that green short grasses mixed with shadowing looks like it was glowing and shining purple.'

While searching for mani ideas with Toubkal, I thought of using gold to accentuate the shimmery flakes in Toubkal. I picked out Gift of Gold from the Julie G Frosted Gumpdrops Holiday 2013 collection. This is a textured yellow-gold glitter. I love it so much, and its perfect for Christmas! (You can see my mani using another shade from the collection, Silver Bells here).

I used 2 coats of Toubkal on my thumb, index and middle fingernails and 2 coats of Gift of Gold on the rest. Application and formula on both were really good, I had no issues whatsoever.

I liked how this mani turned out and got a few compliments on it. To me it is an understated but elegant combination. What do you think of this mani?

Elevation polishes can be purchased from the Elevation Polish store and Llarowe.
Julie G polishes are available at various retailers and the Jesse's Girl Cosmetics site.
