World Lupus Awareness Day (May 10) - Illamasqua Baptiste & One Stroke Butterfly

Hi everyone. Today I'm showing you a manicure for a particular cause. Today, May 10 2013, is world Lupus Awareness Day. I have a friend who suffers from Lupus and this is for her and to raise awareness of this disease. I for one did not know much at all about Lupus before learning about it from Michelle.

Illamasqua Baptiste
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Lupus affects more than 5 million people worldwide.
Here is a great website about World Lupus Awareness Day with more information.

Purple is the colour for Lupus Awareness and the symbol is a butterfly. For my mani, I chose to wear Illamasqua Baptiste with a one-stroke butterfly design.

I used 2 coats of Baptiste which applies really smoothly. The formula is wonderful and this is one of those polishes which just seems to glow from within. Definitely a must-have purple in my opinion.

For the butterfly I used acrylic paints to paint a one-stroke butterfly and used a dotting tool to add darker dots on the wings and white dots for stylised antennae.
