Negative Space Waves

Hi everyone! I'm back today with a fun nail art. I was inspired by my friend Emily from Casual Contrast who posted these nails for NYE. They also reminded me of my My Little Pony nail art from years ago but with a nude/negative space background which added a fun element.

I really fancied putting my own spin on these so here they are. I added some holo flakes in a clear base as my background and used creme polishes instead of holo.

Darling Diva Big Chrome C*ck Goblin is a lovely topper but I also like it on nude nails like this for just a touch of sparkle. You can see my swatch of it over black here

I then used a fine detail brush and OPI Mod About You (baby pink creme), Suzi Without a Paddle (pale blue creme) and No Room for the Blues (blue creme) for the waves. I then topped with topcoat as always.

I really enjoyed wearing these. Negative space is such a fun change from regular manis and nail art! And super simple! Hope you like them too. And thanks to Emily for the inspiration!

6 Harts Glacier & Orly Sweet Peacock Snowflakes

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely holiday time! I'm back to share some more festive nail art with you today. I wore this before Christmas but didn't find time to blog it for you guys until now so sorry about that. Hope you're not sick of festive manis, I have just a couple to share. It's not January yet right haha.

This beautiful polish is 6 Harts Glacier from 2012. Oldie but goodie for sure. I love Courtney's polishes and shes one of the coolest women/friends/indie makers out there for sure! If you're not familiar with the brand please do check her out, you won't regret it!

I started out with 2 thin coats of Glacier over a white creme base just for maximum opacity. The shimmer and flakes are a little less obvious like this perhaps but I really wanted a bright white base. The blue shimmer is quite hard to capture on camera, especially with the nail art but you'll have to take my word for it that it it stunning in real life!

I then used Orly Sweet Peacock, a blue metallic foil, and Moyou Festive 02 plate to stamp the snowflakes. I love how this polish stamped. I'd not tried the technique with this one yet but the flake finish is super pretty! I finished with topcoat as always.

Hope you like it and that you have a safe and fun New Year's Eve tonight if you're celebrating!

Snowflakes - Picture Polish Kryptonite & Essie No Place Like Chrome

Hi everyone! Today I have another festive nail art to show you. Like every year, I've done some snowflake designs. I think snowflakes are my favourite Winter/Christmas design for sure!

I started out this one with 2 coats of Picture Polish Kryptonite, a green scattered holo. I'm not generally a huge fan of green but I do like this one. It does have a tendency to stain your skin a little when removing though so I suggest careful removal with acetone.

I then added the snowflakes with Essie No Place Like Chrome and MoYou Festive 02 plate. I finished with topcoat as always. Hope you like them! Loving the festive manis right now!

Tartan Nails

Hi everyone! I recently felt the urge to try out some tartan nails. I'm not a huge fan of tartan in general but I like it on nails when I see it, especially with red. I saw this mani posted by Kiersten (@thebusynails) on Instagram and had to recreate it.

I started out with two coats of OPI Big Apple Red, pretty much my go to red creme. The formula and colour are perfection. It never disappoints me.

I then used some acrylic paint and a fine detail brush to freehand the black stripes to make the tartan pattern. I then added stripes of Color Club Art Liner striper in You're Golden and finished with topcoat.

I love the colour combination and the 'traditional' tartan look. I felt quite festive wearing this mani! What do you think of it?
