Colors by Llarowe - The Mighty Red Baron

Hi everyone! I have a simple swatch post for you today of one of my all time favourite red polishes! This is The Mighty Red Baron by Colors by Llarowe! I know, I know...you've probably seen this one a million times but it really is worth all the mentions.

Colors by Llarowe - The Mighty Red Baron

The Mighty Red Baron is a rich, red holo with a glowing velvety finish unlike any other polish I have to be honest. The formula is fantastic and I used 2 easy coats plus topcoat. The only negative about this polish is that I did experience staining with it despite using basecoat but that is because of the pigment in it. The listing on the CbL website does have a staining warning though I'm not sure it was there back in 2014 when I bought this when it came out. It doesn't matter though. I still love it and honestly I wear polish almost all the time anyway so it doesn't matter too much. But keep it in mind if you want to purchase this one.

I ended up wearing this polish alone and not even adding to it. I love a good simple red and with the finish on this one, it stands out enough on it's own! I'm afraid there was no sun to be seen when I wore this so you'll just have to believe me about how amazing it looks in sunlight!

Cirque Besos

Hi everyone! Recently I have been obsessed with everything metallic. You've probably seen my chrome powder posts already and the gorgeous Cirque Idyllic, the light blue metallic flake polish from the holiday collection. I've continued on that and have been pulling out pretty much all of my metallic flake polishes to wear again, including this one.

Cirque Besos

This is Cirque Besos which unfortunately was a limited edition release as part of the Speckled and Sparkled collection. The brand describes it as a 'deep magenta sterling foil holographic (made with superfine sterling silver pigment)'. I love magenta and rich colours like this in any texture but this one is just gorgeous. I loved how it made my hands looked and didn't even feel like doing nail art on it!

Cirque Besos

I used 2 coats of Besos plus topcoat as always. The formula was perfect. The only bad thing about this polish is that it was LE! Thankfully Cirque do have some other great polishes with this finish and sometimes rerelease popular shades (such as Halcyon and Hatch!).

OPI Pink-Purple Gradient with 6 Harts Moon Shadow

Hi everyone! This is another mani I wore a while back and never got around to posting. I'm trying to clear out and post my  forgotten in the unposted vault manis! I really loved this mani and I'm not sure how I didn't post it to be honest!

I used a sponge to create a quick gradient with 3 OPI polishes, all cremes. I used Kiss Me On My Tulips for the base, then that with Honk If You Love OPI and Miami Beet. I knew I was going to add to this so I didn't worry about it being too perfect. I actually topcoated this and wore it for a day as it was because I was in a hurry to leave the house but I later added a coat of 6 Harts Moon Shadow. This is a gorgeous shimmery topper that looks great over loads of colours. It is definitely one of my favourites from 6 Harts!

I took photos before and after adding Moon Shadow. I love how the topper changes the look of the gradient and I wore it for a good few days before finally removing it! What do you think? Which version do you prefer?

Black and Silver Chrome

Hi everyone! Happy New Year! Sorry I haven't been around or posting much but the end of 2016 was pretty hectic!

Today I have a post for you featuring a mani I actually wore a while ago and didn't get around to posting. It's super simple but I loved wearing it.

A England Camelot & Girly Bits Mirror Chrome Effect Powder

I started out with 2 coats of A England Camelot, my absolute favourite black polish on all nails except my ring fingernail. The formula is perfection and its a one-coater. I use 2 coats out of habit! I then used Le Mini Macaron Licorice on my ring fingernail and topped it with Girly Bits Mirror Chrome Effect Powder and Le Mini Macaron 3X Shine Topcoat.

A England Camelot & Girly Bits Mirror Chrome Effect Powder

I added 2 crystals to my middle fingernail and finished the black nails with a coat of regular topcoat. This was a super basic mani but I liked the silver and black combo with the crystals which tied it together.

What do you think of it? Have you tried any chrome powder?

A England Sleeping Palace & Tristam Gradient

Hi everyone! Today I have a holo gradient mani to show you using two of my favourite A England polishes.

A England Sleeping Palace & Tristam Gradient

Sleeping Palace is one of my all-time favourite polishes, a smoky plum purple with a glowy prismatic holo effect. This is subtle yet gorgeous and I love how it looks on my nails. When I need a quick mani and no nail art, I can throw this on and I know I will feel great wearing it. A definite go-to.

Tristam is a gorgeous navy blue with the same finish and I love this one too. I wear a lot of navy blue clothing and I love navy blue polish as well.

A England Sleeping Palace & Tristam Gradient

For this mani, I started off with 2 coats of Sleeping Palace and then used a sponge to create the gradient using both polishes. I then finished with topcoat! Simple as that! I didn't even want to decorate this because it was pretty enough as it was. I really like wearing gradients and they're probably one of my favourite 'nail arts'.

What do you think of it? Do you like gradients too?

Cirque Idyllic & Snowflakes

Hi everyone! Today I FINALLY have a festive mani to show you! I have so many ideas of manis to do and time has just been getting away from me the last couple of weeks and nail time has been more scarce than usual! I'm hoping I'll get back to more regular posting soon!

Cirque Idyllic & Snowflake Stamping

I haven't been buying much polish recently but instead using forgotten about pretties from my Helmers as you might have noticed. However, when I got the email from Cirque showing the Holiday collection, I just couldn't resist Idyllic. I'm a huge huge fan of the metallic flake finish polishes, from numerous brands including Cirque and I didn't have a light blue version. This colour is so perfect and wintry!

Cirque Idyllic & Snowflake Stamping

I applied 2 coats of Idyllic. The formula was a little bit thick and dragged slightly but it wasn't really hard to work with or anything. I think it maybe didn't like my basecoat. I'll try with a different one next time to see if it was that. I then used Girly Bits White Wedding stamping polish and a Konad light blue stamping polish to stamp snowflakes from the MoYou Festive 02 plate.  I finished off as always with a coat of topcoat.

I really enjoyed wearing these and I never get sick of the snowflake designs from this plate. So many possibilities! What designs do you like to wear this time of year?

Lynnderella Salad Days

Hi everyone! Today I have an oldie but goodie to share with you! I've recently been making an effort to get out some of my older polishes and show them some love and I felt the urge to wear this classic from Lynnderella, Salad Days.

Lynnderella Salad Days over China Glaze Holly-Day

This was one of my first Lynnderellas and although I don't have that many, I do quite like the ones I have. I remember how sought-after her polish was when indies were still quite new!

Salad Days is a predominantly green glitter mix with some orange, yellow, red and purple in the mix. Just like a garden salad. I used one coat dabbed over a base of China Glaze Holly-Day.

Lynnderella Salad Days over China Glaze Holly-Day

I hadn't been wearing much glitter for a while but since I tried out the Dance Legend Peel Off basecoat (I purchased from Girly Bits), I find I've been reaching for glitters more because I know I won't have to deal with removal and the tin-foil method which I don't always have time for. Glitter isn't always my go-to but I do still like a good glittery polish and I like it even more with easy removal!

What do you think of this one? Do you still like glitter?
